About Acasus

We are a consultancy that drives major reforms in health and education around the world.

In health, we contribute towards improving global immunization rates. To date, we have supported governments across Asia, Africa and South America to radically increase immunization coverage and improve access to basic healthcare facilities, prenatal and maternity clinics in remote areas. Our education projects in South America and the Middle East have successfully provided access to basic education for millions of children.

We work in teams to support senior government officials (typically at ministerial or prime-ministerial level) in driving rapid reforms. The success of our projects depends on the dedication, development, and excellent work of our teams.

Role​ in Brief

Excellent engineering is a critical part of Acasus’ success in rapidly improving health and education services. Our core mobile applications in particular are an important part of driving successful interventions across all of our projects.

You will have the opportunity to apply the latest technologies in meaningful projects that use mobile applications, data analysis, and consulting to drive rapid improvements in public health and education services.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include

  • Experience coaching engineers with an emphasis on skill building

  • Integrating mobile products with backend services

  • Building systems for data analysis and dashboards for communicating strategy and results to stakeholders

  • Setting up a strategy for CI/CD

  • Working with the design team to prioritize features and make iterative improvements

  • Taking ownership of software build from analysis to production and support

  • Suggesting new tools, technologies and ways of working for continuous improvement

  • Working collaboratively

Our ideal senior software engineer & team leader will have

  • 3-5 years of team leadership experience

  • Excellent knowledge of Node.js and Express.js

  • Expertise in React, Redux, React Native

  • Experience with Location API and Bluetooth API

  • Working knowledge of Kubernetes, PostgreSQL and Google Cloud Platform

  • Fluency in English, written and spoken

Bonus skills

  • Experience with BigQuery

  • Native Android and iOS development experience
